This week the mining views in the Graphic show the works at the Golden Hill Extended mine Manaia in the Coromandel district. The company was floated last year, and although the price of shares has been and still is low, yet the directors have steadily set to work to develop the property and erect a crushing plant. One view shows the men engaged erecting the battery buildings to cover the engine and other machinery already in position. As will be seen, plenty of fuel is handy to feed the engine for some time to come. The other view shows the mouth of the tunnel with the miner who has just emptied the truck at the tip. The election of the battery is of importance as crushing power is sadly wanted in the Manaia district.
