NEW ZEALANDERS IN ENGLAND.

MR A. L. EDWARDS and Mr Harry Horton, both of Auckland, are in London at present.

Mr E. M. Smith, M.H.R.. of ironsand and Taranaki fame, is on his way to the colony.

Among recent arrivals in London is Mr E. S. Brown of Auckland.

Captain Farquhar, of the Northern Steamship Company has arrived in London by the ‘ Ophir,’ to take out the new steamer built for the Company at Port Glasgow.

Archdeacon Cholmondeley, of Christchurch, accompanied by his eldest daughter, has arrived in England by the ‘Austral.’ They travelled as far as Naples by the * Oruba,' intending to do the Continent, but the serious illness of the Archdeacon frustrated their scheme. The Archdeacon and Miss Cholmondeley make but a short stay in England, leaving for New Zealand again in September.

An influential English syndicate who are promoting a big finance and investment company in connection with the Rand and the New Zealand mines have engaged as mining engineer and consultant Mr Edgar Rathbone, who has just returned Home alter seven vears in Johannesburg. Up to the recent disturbances Mr Rathbone was Inspector of Mines to the Transvaal Government.

Mr and Mrs W addell, of Oamaru, are at present staying at Airdrie, in Scotland.
