Dear Bee. June 1. A most delightful LEAP YEAR BALL was held in the Fitzroy Hall on Thursday night. Being a Perfect moonlight night, about sixty couples were Present. The hall was artistically decorated with pungas. tarns. and red silk intermingled. Curtains hung from every window, which looked very effective. The floor was in excellent order, and music supplied by Mesdames Westmacott. Gilmour. Miss \ oung and Miss Davidson. and Mr Lewis (Auckland), left nothing to be d«~ired by the dancers. A dainty supper was handed round by the ladies of the committee, and was much enjoyed. Miss Ada Young made a moat efficient MX. Now for the pretty

Mrs Westmacott wore a handsome terracotta dress covered with pretty black lace and white swansdown trimmings; Mrs Gilmour, black mourning dress; Miss A. Young, very pretty white cashmere, gold trimmings, white opera cape: Mrs Goldwater, handsome salmon pink and black silk: Miss E. Young, pretty blue nun's veiling : her sister looked nice in b’ack and black sequins; Miss D Clegg looked exceedingly well indeed in a handsome red velvet trimmed round the neck with yellow silk: Miss P. Ciegg. pretty black velvet relieved with amber satin ribbon ; Miss Maud Clegg, charming yellow crepon Empire gown ; Miss Humphries. black net: Misses D and H. Humphries wore pale blue trimmed with pink, those being the prevailing colours of the evening : Miss Crocker looked nice in blue and pink silk ; Mrs Crocker, handsome black satin and yellow silk : Mrs Drake, white and black ; Miss Skelton, pretty white: Mias A Skelton, similarly attired : Miss B Gabb. pretty blue and black: Miss Simmons, white: Misses Weller (two), blue and white: TMiss Colson, pretty yellow and white: Mi-s G. Foote, cream and amber silk ; Mrs W. Foote, lovely pink and black : Miss Richardson, white corded silk ; her sister, white nun’s veiling: Miss Hammond, pretty white: Miss King, charming blue: her sister, white; Miss Morey, blue blouse, dark skirt: Miss G. Morey, blue: Miss Laura Jackson, very pretty red blouse, dark skirt: Misses Hook, blue and pink : Miss Butler, blue: Miss Nash, white: Miss Bolton, in blue looked nice: Miss E. Allan, white: Miss L.
