THE BIRTHDAY LEVEE.

A BIRTHDAY levee was held at Government House, Auckland, on Monday last. On the

occasion the Devon port Torpedo Corps, under Lieutenant-Commander Parker, acted as a Guard of Honor to His Excellency. Lord Glasgow was attended by Major Elliot, Captain Preston, and Captain Feilden. His Excellency the Admiral and staff were admitted prior to the entree. At a quarter to 12 the levee commenced, when those who had received cards were admitted. The levee lasted until 1 o’clock, and was attended by the following gentlemen :—
