DEVONPORT AND REMUERA BOWLERS.

DURING the late bowling tournament, it having been found impossible to play off all the inter-

club matches, an understanding was arrived at between the Devonport and Remuera Clubs that they would try conclusions on an early date. Accordingly at very short notice a match, two rinks a side, was arranged to take place on Saturday afternoon, March 16th, on the green of the Devonport Club. As both clubs were formed during the early part of the present season, and number among their ranks veteran and skilled players, considerable interest was evinced in the result of the contest. The play throughout was excellent, the match ending in favour of Devonport by 7 points, the aggregate scores being Devonport 40, Remuera 33. At the close of the game the President of the Remuera Club, Mr Von Sturmer, called for the customary salute, which was heartily given by the visitors, and as heartily responded to by the Devonport team. The pavilion of the Devonport Club is comfortable and commodious, and the ground centrally situated, affording a pleasant and attractive recreative resort for the North Shore bowlers and their friends.
