BLENHEIM.

Dear Bee, March 18. We are quite gayjiu-l now, tor yesterday being st. Patrick’s Day, the HIBERNIAN SPORTS were held on the Cricket Ground and largely attended, and the concert last night, wont, off very successfully. The Marlborough R icing Club held their AUTUMN HACK MEETING To DAY. and the whole affair was a great success, and the management deserve great credit. The races were promptly run. but the Hehls were large, and the starter seemed inexperienced. The course was very hard, and the day very close and warm, which tried the horses a groat deal. The big dividend of the day wns won by Dr Cleghorn's Tippler, which paid over £l6. and the win was a popular one in spite of one losing all one’s money. There were a great many horses from outside, which made the meeting much monexciting. There were more ladies on the grand stand than have

been seen there for many years past. The new rule of giving each member three ladies’ tickets has already proved to be a success, as the presence of so many ladies certainly helps to make a race meeting go off well.
