EXPENSIVE FOOD.
A jeweller missed several valuable stones early the other morning, and could not account for their disappearance, as he bad only opened the safe a few moments before. He searched in vain for them, and then turning to his 3 yearold baby, who had been running about, asked ; * Where are those little things ?' A physician was at once summoned. He did not think any serious result would follow the costly feast. An examination of the tray showed that fourteen pearls and five diamonds had been swallowed by the child.
Society is now one polished horde, Formed of two tribes, the bores and the bored.
