DUNEDIN.

Deak Bee, September 10. On Saturday the long-looked-for match between THE OTAGO REPS. AND CANTERBURY REPS. was played on the Caledonian Ground. Notwithstanding the bad weather between seven and eight thousand people assembled on the ground to witness it. Shortly after the match commenced Otago got a try. which was speedily converted into a goal, but before the end of the first spell Canterbury also succeeded in getting a try. but failed to convert it. At half-time the score was 5 to 3. thus showing how evenly the teams were matched. During the rest of the game the excitement was, of course, tremendous, but after a very hard fight.
