Dear Bee, May 15. Last week was so very quiet in Nelson that I postponed writing until I had a few topics of interest to tell you of. On Saturday afternoon Mrs J. Sharp gave a very pleasant AFTERNOON TEA in honour of Miss Hudson, who is staving here for a short time. Among those present where Mrs and Miss Hudson, Mrs and Miss Sealy. Mrs Harris, Miss Huddleston. Miss Catley, Mrs and Miss Turner. Mrs Mackav. Miss Pitt, Mrs Pitt. etc. On Monday Mrs Heaps asked a few friends to a SMALL KETTLEDRUM to meet Mrs Knight, who is staying with her sister. Mrs Booth. On Wednesday Miss Broad’s first ASSEMBLY DANCE was held, and was a most pleasant affair, about thirty people being present, and all seemed to thoroughly enjoy themselves, and as this is the first of a series of six, the young people have a good time before them.
