Dear Bee, March 26. Dunedin is Quite gay this week, as there are to be two weddings -that of Miss Berth a Jonnson to Mr Jack Giendining. eldest ron of Mr Robert Giendibi »g. or the well-known firm of Ross and Glendming ; and of Miss Hackhouse of Sydney, t J Mr Chanes Butterworth, of lhe firm of Butter worth Bros. On Saturday evening Mrs Henry Mackenzie (Tne Chalet! gave a large DINNER PARTY for Miss Backhouse's girl friends. The table was tastefully decorated with a variety of flowers. During the dinner Mrs Mackenzie proposed tne health of Miss Backhouse. Conversation, music, and songs whued away the evening. I hear that Miss B ckhouse has received a great number of very pretty wed ai ng presents from both friends and re la lions. The others present were Miss Sise. Miss Maude sSise. tne Misses Rattray (four). Miss Lily MacLaren. Miss Eihel MacLaren, Miss Mills. Miss Maude Butterworth. Miss Liiy Turton. CargilL Mr and Mrs Petre. Mrs ana the Misses Johnson. Lhe Misses Cutten. I cannot remember everyone who was there, as there were such crowds of people, seeing different friends off. Miss Beatrice Farquhar left for Melbourne by the s.s. Waihora. She intends paying her married sister a visit for a few months.
