Mr and Mrs Percy Adams and their son returned to Nelson yesterday after a year’s absence. Their many friends here are delighted to welcome them home once more. I hear they are looking very well after their trip. Mrs Thornton has gone to Christchurch to have a merry time during race week. Mrs R. Kingdom has gone for a short trip to New Plymouth, Wanganui and Wellington, and intends being away a month. Mr G. G. S. Robison. M.A., of Canterbury, has been appointed as an additional master at the Boys’ College for next year, Mr Joynt going to England for a year’s holiday. The nags in town are all flying to-day owing to the MIDLAND RAILWAY BILL being thrown out. Nelson people ought to be very grateful to their delegates—Mr Trask, Mr Baigent and Mr Pitt—for all they have done in the matter. Phyllis.
