THE LATE LORD GLASGOW.
The late Lord Glasgow was, as is well known, one of the most eccentric men that was ever associated with the turf, and among his eccentricities was a fondness for strong language. The booking clerk asked the Earl to write his name on the back of the note, which he did. After scrutinising the signature the clerk rudely handed the note back to him, saying : • It’s your name I want. I don’t want to know where you come from !’ Tableau !
