Mabin. Devinish, Oldham (two,, and Dr. Hudson. It was a great disappointment to many ladies last Saturday being so wet. as the ground was in too damp a condition to allow them to go and look on at the FOO'i BALL MATCH. Marlborough v. Nelson. At first it was thought the match would have to be postponed, the rain came down so hard in the morning. However, it cleared somewhat in the afternoon, so a few ladies ventured out to see the fun. Among others 1 noticed Mrs Jim Wood. Mrs Percy Adems, Mrs DeCastro. Mrs L. Adams. Mrs J. Sharp, Miss Huddlestone, Miss Gribben. Miss Moore, Miss Hursthouse, Miss G. Kell, Mies Lightfoot, etc. Some of the girls have started a MUSICAL CRITIC CLUB in Nelson, and a very excellent incentive it will prove to many, who directly they leave school leave off their music, or at any rate neglect, it dreadfully. t’he first meeting took place this afternoon, when all played what they liked, being the first day of the Chib. There were present Miss B. Richmond. Miss F. Sealy, Miss Jackson. Miss Moore. Miss Broad. Miss Kempthorne, Miss Crump. Miss M. Crump, Miss Flett, and Miss Webb Bowen.’ A very enjoyable afternoon was spent, all the more, perhaps, as on this occasion very little criticism was indulged in. DEPARTURES AND ARRIVALS. The Misses Catley leave for England cn roufe for Paris, where they go to study drawing and painting. They will be much missod by their many friends in Nelson, and doubtless many will godown to wish them bon vuyinji.

Phyllis.
