Dear Bee, May 10. A most enjoyable evening was spent by those lucky enough to receive an invitation to MK AND MRS PITT’S PROGRESSIVE EUCHRE PARTY last Friday evening. Among those present were Mr and Mrs Percy Adams, the latter in pale pink bengaline evening dress. Mr, and Mrs Roger Kingdon in a lovely gown of rich heliotrope velvet draped with beautiful old lace; Mr and Mrs Jack Sharp in pompadour satin draped with deep black lace flowers ; Dr, and Mrs Hudson in handsome black silk; Mr, and Mrs Sclanders in becoming heliotrope gown ; Mrs Hudson (Wellington), rich black silk; Mrs Pearson (Wellington), black gown; Miss Richmond, Sale pink ; Miss C. Richmond, lovely shade ot palest heliotrope; liss Collins (Kaikoura), in white striped gauze; Miss Woolcombe (Timaru), in black robe, she looked very stylish ; Miss Jo Pitt was looking very well in soft white robe; Miss Jones, heliotrope?with white lace draped on the low corsage; Miss Gibson, black, relieved with buttercup sash and ribbons ; Miss Tindall, pale pink; Miss Gribben, bright green veiled with black lace, made in the Empire style, and an exceedingly becoming and quaint costume it was ; Miss Morgan, deep yellow gown, prettily made; Mrs Pitt received her guests in handsome black satin with rose pink panel veiled in lace. Messrs Macquarrie, Jones, Joynt, Cooke, Broad, Moore, Pitt (two), Garrett, Fox, Symons, and Dr Cressey were present, 'rhe first prize was won by Miss Gibson for the ladies, and Mr J. Sharp for the gentleman, while booby prizes fell to Mrs Percy Adams and Dr Hudson. Miss Geraldine Fell gave A VERY JOLLY LITTLE DANCE to her young friends on last Tuesday evening, at which quite a number of yonng people were present, and all seemed to enjoy themselves thoroughly. Mrs Felix Levien from Melbourne is at present a visitor to Nelson, and is much charmed with our lovely climate and pretty little town.
