Dear Bee, April 4. .. „ The Editor would only accept a small ‘ topic ’ about the pretty EXHIBITION OF AMATEUR HAND-PAINTED CHINA last week, owing to pressure on the space, so that I could not put m a word edgeways about the very tasteful dresses at the studio. 1 was even obliged to omit a description of the Countess’s stylish ana elegant costume. Lady Glasgow looked particularly well in a gown of ixia green silk with a semi-princess arrangement of •n d black silk, affording glimpses of the coloured siik, the sleeves and part of the train ruche being composed of the a becoming combination of the ixia green and black with tips at the back of the ixia in the shape of a bonnet, added the nnisning touch to the toilette. Miss Wauchope. who with the everpopular Captain Hunter-Blair, accompanied Her Excellency, was tastefully and simply gowned in a grey-beige dress with the idea a ? u ld Q uai . con veyed in the material: she looked pretty in a black hat.
