AUCKLAND.

Dear Bee, March 14. We are rather fond of politics in Auckland, and those of us who are inclined to take trouble about informing ourselves concerning our country's progress attended the MEETING ADDRESSED BY MR ROLLEBTON in the City Hall, despite the rain. I noticed in the dress circle Mrs H. A. H. Munro, stylish black silk, black bonnet with mauve flower; Mrs Sterriker, grey, and Miss Batger, white; Miss Wilkins, navy with stylish trimmings of guipure lace, and her sister wore black skirt, Swiss belt, white silk blouse ; Miss Talbot, grey ; Miss Thorne-George, navy with white vest, gem hat; Mrs Kerr-Taylor, pretty grey ; Mrs Alfred Nathan, stylish cream with sash of satin ; Miss Davis, white, Mrs Cheesman, stylish dress of black velvet with white nun’s veiling; Mrs O'Korke, handsome black gown with fawn trimming, and stylish fawn opera coat; Mrs Ware, black : Mrs W. Bloom Held I think wore a stylish combination of grey and white ; Mrs Dargaville, black; Mrs (Smith was also attiiea in black rel.eved with white ; Mrs Keesing. At various times I have seen Miss Reeves, who looked distingue in trained black velvet relieved with white point lace ; Miss Marsden, black, relieved with white tulle ; Mrs O'Korke, trained black silk skirt, canary-coloured silk blouse and sash, and extremely handsome zouave jacket embroidered with gold and black velvet: Mrs Thomas, mode grey with white vest, black bonnet with pink ; her daughter also wore mode grey ; Mrs Sam Morrin, handsome black silk ; while her two little daughters were gowned in rose pink, and Gobelin blue ; Miss Phillips, black with white vest: Miss Stewart (Epsom), pretty cream delaine ; Mrs Ireland, black ; and her daughter wore grey, with white blouse: Miss Dusk looked extremely well in black ; her sister was gowned in white ; Miss Porter, grey; Mrs A. H. Nathan, black and w'hile check, lace mantle; Mrs J. Murray, handsome black striped satin ; Mrs Butt, black silk ; Mrs Benjamin, black dress, gold brocaded front. DRESSES AND ATTENDANCE AT POLO. Mrs O’Rorke, who was gowned in brown striped alpaca, with canary silk vest, cream sailor hat, gracefully presided over the afternoon tea, and in a charming manner attended to everybody’s wants, and was ably assisted by the Misses Wilkins, who wore black with white vests, sailor hats, fur boas; Miss Dunnett, grey; Miss Percival, navy ; Dr., and Mrs Lewis, black (mourning); Miss Lewis, brown coat, rustic hat with fawn feathers and green ribbons: Mrs Jackson (H.M.S. Katoomba), fawn costume, hat with heliotrope flowers; Mrs Dignan looked distingue in fawn with cream silk vest, black Eat; Miss Rich, black ; Mrs Buddle, grey, with black jacket; Miss Firth, grey edged with yellow silk; Miss Bursili, fawn, with green plush trimmings; Miss Wylde-Browne, heliotrope ; Mr Philson. On horseback were Mrs Ware, Misses Stevenson and Forbes. We were glad to welcome back Captain Hunter-Blair, as you know he is such a good player. OUR FAIR PROMENADERS. Miss Nina Russell, I should say, looked charming, but as she objects to that word I will not describe her costume : Mrs Ching, striking costume of black velvet and white muslin; Miss Nashelski, stylish fawn skirt, cream Liberty silk blouse, rustic hat with feathers; Miss Dunnett, tabac brown with hat and parasol en suite; Miss Eva Scherff, electric blue delaine, white vest, and gem hat; Mrs Cotter, Gobelin blue with coffee-coloured guipure lace and ribbons, gem hat trimmed en suite ; Miss Carr looks chic in white, hat with feathers, fawn jacket; Mrs Ruck, biscuitcoloured gown ; Miss Keesing, white; Mrs Ware, a very stylish costume of heliotrope ; Mrs Blair, grey skirt, white blouse; Mrs Dufaur, grey skirt, white lace biome ; Mrs Osmond, stylish grey tailor-made costume ; Miss Holland looks charming in white; Miss Scherff, an electric blue trimmed profusely with Mechlin lace ; Mrs Dignan, handsome fawn costume. Amongst the fair equestrians I have seen lately riding about who look well. Miss Sellers, on an upstanding bay : Miss Kempthorne, a pretty dark pony; Miss Forbes, in navy habit, white gem hat, was riding a bay polo pony ; Miss Hilda Worsp, on a pretty bay, wears a navy habit, and small cap ; Miss B. Bull, in navy, white blouse, gem hat, manages her pony to perfection ; Mrs Thomas Morrin looks nice on Sauntcrer. Mr and Mrs Bourne are staying in Symond-street, pending their departure to Christchurch. Mrs Bourne looks stylish in blue with white spots, guipure lace yoke and cuffs, black lace bonnet with yellow relief. Mr and Mrs Taw Dawson are shortly leaving Auckland to settle in Wanganui. They will be much missed by their friends. DRESSES WORN AT THE PONSONBY TENNIS LAWN ON SATURDAY.

Buchanan looked well in a neat navy tailor-made cos tume with light hat; Miss Buchanan wore a costume of peacock blue with velvet trimmings and hat to match; Miss Billington, cream blouse over rose-pink skirt, cream hat; Miss — Billington, Sale pink, cream hat; Miss F.
