Engagements

The engagement has recently taken place of

Miss Ethel Mairof Whangarei, to Mr Cecil Har-

gaiui, tu xui Veen iiai - rington- late of Whangarei branch Bank of New Zealand, but now in Queen street branch of the Bank.

The marriage of Mr Arthur Hooper, dentist, and son of Dr. Hooper, to Miss Bedlington, of Mount Eden, takes place shortly. The following conies from Fiji : —Miss Eastgate is to be married shortly to Mr Senior, and Miss Fanny Hill to Mr Philpotts, formerly of Taviuni. Miss Tottie Stephenson is engaged to Mr A. Burns, Miss Driver to Mr C. Bishop, and Miss J. Scott to Mr Buckland. These young ladies are all favourites of Dunedin society, and the weddings will create a good deal of interest. Miss Cossak and Mr Sydney Chatfield are to be married on the 22nd of this month.
