A PENINSULA VETERAN.
‘ W. H.,’ Highcliff, Peninsula, sends us the following : — • What is the ditl'erence between a Waterbury watch and frozen mutton ?’
‘ One always keeps good time, while the other only keeps good for a time.’ We are patriotic enough to take up the cudgels on behalf of frozen mutton, because it has done incalculable good to this colony at a time when it was badly needed. We are pleased with the credit given us for accurate time-keeping, but wish our correspondent would feel more kindly toward the other industry. Mutton whilst frozen is always good, in fact, it resembles the Waterbury rather than differs from it.
