MERCY’S VEIL.

The years that are passed, behind us are cast, Fade like a dream, or a tale that is told ; Misty obscurity, hides all futurity. Nor to mind finite shall ever unfold.

Old wounds are now healed. Fate's quiver concealed, Merciful blindness, at which none can scoff ; Think of futurity viewed in maturity, ‘ Enough for the day is the evil thereof.'

Nor youth, nor old age can e'er turn the pnge, The volume is sealed ; the key is with God ; But fruth all untarnish'd, stern Duty unvarnish'd Are life’s safest charts, as homeward we plod.

Now nlainly we read, as earth's shores recede, Ami, we thrust from time's isle, on eternity’s sea, With perfected being, all things clearly seeing Our pilgrimage ended, we rest, Lord, with Thee.
