CHARACTERS IN ‘.PRINCESS IDA'.
Two weeks ago we published a critique of the performers of the ‘ Princess Ida ’ by the Auckland Amateur Opera Club, but were at that time unable to procure the portraits of the leading performers for reproduction. In the present issue these appear, and represent very faithfully some aspects of what was on the whole a most enjoyable representation of the work —the first which has taken place in any of the chief towns of New Zealand. We have to thank MrHemus, of Queen-street, Auckland, for the right of reproducing the accompanying portraits.
