He had been talking with St. Peter and was sent down to the other gate, where he was warmly welcomed. ‘ Why are you here V asked the fallen angel who stood guard. ‘I don’t know,’he replied. ‘I never did anything. I never said an unkind word about a person in my life. ’ Then the angel smiled. * That’s all right,’ he said ; ‘ come in. You will find the cage for the hypocrites at the end of the lower corridor next to the furnace.’
