MERRYTHOUGHT SLAVES.
Have you ever made any merrythought slaves? They are very comical in appearance, and readily bring in sixjiences at bazaars. The merrythoughts must be thoroughly cleaned, and bare little heads and feet added in black sealing-wax, the eyes being formed of white chalk beads. Little cloth coats and collars and undershirts complete the outfit of the little creature, each one of which should bear a label inscribed with the following rhyme Once I was a Merrythought, Growing on a hen. Now I am a little slave, Sold to wipe your pen.
