LONDON AND PARIS FASHIONS.

VERY HANDSOME WRAPS AND GOWNS FOR EARLY SPRING. (SEE FASHION PLATE, PAGE 400). The magic name of Redfern has now for many years been associated with all that is perfect in the way of smart tailormade garments. It is needless, therefore, to call attention to the fact that Redfern gowns, coats, and mantles have an indescribable cachet, which is all their own, and which it is equally impossible to imitate or describe. No. 1 is an exceedingly handsome wrap in Royal-blue cloth, with a cape the full length falling over tight-fitting sleeves. The fronts are trimmed with black and gold passementerie, and a black ostrich feather boa forms a yoke at the back of the cloak, and comes over the shoulder with long ends, which can be either left loose or tied at will. To complete the toilette, a smart little bonnet of blue velvet is worn, embroidered with black chenille, and trimmed with black feathers. No. 2 is a visiting gown in a pale shade of reseda, draped en princesse, and arranged in a very graceful fashion, and one which is particularly becoming to the figure. The bodice is buttoned at the back. One side of the front is in velvet of a darker shade, while the cloth part is cut out in scallops over the velvet, and prettily braided in a mixture of reseda and gold cord. The skirt has a deep band of velvet, with the cloth cut in scallops, and braided, as on the bodice. The hat is of the same colour as the cloth, trimmed with feathers of a darker shade.

No. 3 is a very smart gown in rough black-ribbed cloth. The skirt is plain, with a deep hem turned up, finished at the top with a narrow border of black and gold braiding. The bodice is cut very long, and made with loose fronts, a roll collar, and large pointed pockets. It is bordered throughout with the black and gold braiding. Under the loose fronts of the bodice there is a waistcoat of fine cream cloth, entirely braided with the black and gold cord. The hat is of cream cloth, trimmed with black velvet, and a cream aigrette, with a black osprey.
