LOVELY RECEPTION TOILET.
This handsome dress would be very suitable for a dinnerparty on a col<l night when a low or V-shaped dress would not agree with the wearer. Frequently, during this last severe English winter, these high dresses have been worn at balls and evening parties by some of our most noted society, yet sensible, ladies. The one in the illustration is of lovely peach-tinted brocade, the flowers being a delicate pink with bronze-green leaves. The rest of the material is surah silk of a very new chestnut tinge. The contrast is exceedingly effective, and very novel. This stylish dress could be carried out for a street spring costume, with check material, silk or wool, where the brocade now is, and plain
material, either bengaline or cloth.
