CHINKEE’S ’CUTENESS.
As officer belonging to a ship lying in the London Docks, having occasion to come to town, took one of the Chinese crew with him to take care of his luggage. On arriving in the City he gave the man his return ticket, telling him to return quickly to the vessel, but on reaching liis ship, he found Air Chinaman had not turned up. When the truant appeared. very late at night, he was soundly rated, and asked where he had"been. Ah Sin, with a triumphant leer, produced his ticket, saying, * Ah, me makee cheat that railway, me walkee baek.’
