The attention of the passengers in a Southern smoking ear was riveted on a strangely behaved negro. He rocked himself from side to side without ceasing. ‘ What’s the matter with you, are you ill ?’ asked a traveller who was in the car. • Does you know Dan McGary ?’ inquired the negro. ‘ Yes.' ‘ Well sah, he sold me a silver watch for S2o,' added the negro, still swaying from side to side, ‘ an’ ef I stops movin’ dis here way de watch doan go no moah.'
