The examiner, tilled with wonder at the excellent way in which one of the candidates has answeied the chemical queries: ‘Very good indeed ! but tell me, you say your father has coached you. is he a—chemist ?’ Hopeful Student : *No sir. not exactly, he is a wine merchant.’ And the piofessor joined the teetotal tanks from that time.
