TEMPORARY ARRANGEMENT.
Floating down the quiet river, Sauntering in the ‘Lover’s walk,’ Blissful were the hours spent with her, Listening to her piquant talk. Every day but drew me closer To my charmer, while her eyes, With their welcome seeming warmer. Filled me with a glad surprise. Till one day ; ‘ O, prav be mine, love,’ Then she ran her tablets through, ‘ My betrothed comes in December : I am yours until he’s due.'
