HOW TO RUN THEM IN.
‘ Have you seen the musical corset ?’ said the father of six Christchurch girls the other day. ‘ Entirely my own invention, I assure you, and I make each of my daughters wear one. It is a stay made so that the slightest pressure produces a curious sound that can be heard in the adjoining room. With a pair of these corsets on,’ continued the sagacious parent, ‘ it would be impossible for any one of my daughters to allow a young man to put his arm round her waist without everyone in the-vicinity knowing all about it, and the result is a quick wedding. Gets the girls off your hands in no time.’
Master : ‘ Well, Pat, did you give him an evasive answer ?’ Pat (wAo has been requested to warn off callers): ‘ Yis, sur, Oi asked him was his grandmother a monkey, sur !’
