‘ Bridget, has Johnnie come home from school yet ‘ Vis, sir.' ‘ Have you seen him ?' ‘ No, sir. ’ ‘Then how do you know he's home?' ‘ 'Cause the cat s hidin' under the dresser, sir.’
A little boy, whose mother had taught him his letters, went to school one day, and attempted to go through them with the teacher. But he could not remember them nt all. and stopped at ‘C.’ At length a happy thought came to him. ‘ Twist my turl !' lie said, (Kiinting ton pretty curl on the top of his head. ‘ Mothei always plays with that when I say them.’ So the teacher played with the curl, ami the little.boy said his alphabet perfectly.
