HE CORRECTED HIMSELF.

A POPULAR young Methodist minister was married not long ago, and instead of spending money on a wedding trip, the couple went at once to keeping house. Their friends called upon them to congratulate them, and to see how they were getting along. One day some young ladies dropped in, and as the husband was bashful his wife endeavoured to relieve him as much as possible of the entertainment of the visitors. One thing this couple did, where the callers were special friends, and that was to show them over the house, so as to let them see how very comfortably they were situated. On the occasion when these young ladies were present the wife and husband went the rounds with them, and the husband pointed out the pictures, the books, the ornaments, and always referred to them as ‘ my books,’ my ‘ pictures,’ etc. Finally his wife began to feet this rather galling and she said to him : ‘ You should say “our,” dear, and not “my” so much ; it would sound better.’ Just as the admonition was given, the husband threw open the door of a cupboard, and thinking to make amends for past offences said : • Anil this is where we hang up our pants.’
