THE VIOLETS.
Flowers of modesty bow your heads, Hark ! at the little children’s tread, Seeking the violets white and blue, Glistening with the morning dew. When their baskets are filled well, Home they will go through copse and dell, Home through many a shady path, While the wood is ringing with their merry laugh ; And when morning shineth bright, Then openeth the violets blue and white.
Modesty Becomes All.
