Description of Plate No. I. Fashion Plate.) No. 1 is a beautiful little mantle of black plush. lw>rdered with an effective rouche of black marabout. The sleeves are cut with square ends, and almost entirely covered with a very handsome applique of black silk and cord passementerie. The sleeves are effectively bordered with "ilk hinge and corded balls to correspond. No. 2 is a very handsome winter mantle of black plush, cut short at the back and arranged with pointed sleeves which will lie found most liecoming to the figure. This mantle is finished in front with two long ends, and liordered throughout with a beautiful fringe of chenille and silk entirely novel in design. No. 3 is a useful long mantle in terracotta cloth, most artistically trimmed with black, and arranged with two graceful points, which cover the arms entirely. A liand of >kunk fur passes round the neck and borders the sleeves of the mantle, while a handsome soutache black trimming forms a kind of zouave round the bodice and pai t of the cloak at the back.

No. 4 is a veiy becoming and entirely novel walking gown of pale grey cloth, trimmed round the arms, on the bas«7ueof the Ixidice. and on the hem of the skirt with a handsome black \ andyke lace, the effect of which is mm-t artistic on the background of pale grey. The sleeves are of black velvet. With grey cuffs covered with lace, and the bodice is verv liecoininglv arranged with a narrow V shaped plastron of black velvet back and front, while the skirt is trimmed with long folds of black velvet to correspond. No. 5 is an exceedingly chic evening gown with a kind of double zouave Ixslice and train in rich black satin, brocaded with .mall lx.u.|uets of tloweis in a mixture of pale yellow and green. The whole of the front of the bodice is draped with palest yellow .rey..- ( Z«- . the skirt being alsodraped with scarves of the same crepe, Uirdered by long silk fringes. (Se- Fushio-t Pl-t-:. ) No. 1 is a graceful gown of tabac doth, braided with a beautiiul shade of watercress green, ami most tastefully arrange*! with a becoming bodice, ornamented with revers ot a«trachan on one side, and on the other four graduated [Hunts of braiding. The back of each sleevo is a T so elaborately braided to correspond. The skirt has a panel of astra chan in front, with pleats of doth braided across in points on either ,ide. The toque is of fawn cloth, with a full ed-e of astraehan surmounted by ospreys in a mixture of-Teen ami fawn. No. 2 is a smart little hat in brown doth with a brim formed of folds ot brown vd vet, arranged in the manner shown in the sketch, and surmounted by a bird and an osurey to correspond. No. 3 is a very distinguished-looking gown of fawn vicuna Imuileii m a dark shaile of bn>wn. The bodice is complete in itself, and is trimmed in front only with a zouave of braiding very eflectively arranged, and a boa of wolverine fur, «Indi crosses the figure, and is afterwards continued as a trimming down the side of the skirt. The cuffs are also of

wolverine, while the longer tablier drapery has a deep bonier of dark brown braiding to eorresooml. The verv large hat is of brown velvet, witli a wide brim turned up slightly on one side, while the emwn is almost hidden undei long plumes of brown ostrich feathers, one of which rests upon the hair behind. No. 4 is a lovely gown with along rclingote ot gendarmeblue cloth, bordered with seal, and opening over a vest and underskirt in a slightly paler shade of the same gendarmeblue. The vest is braided in a mixture of blue antfsteel. and fastened with small steel buttons. A high Medicis collar of seal and wide revers of the same beautiful fur give a very cosy apjiearanee to this becoming bodice. The coat £s braided on either side of the seal bordering in the manner shown in the sketch. The pretty little toque is of -endarme blue velvet, with a border of seal, and bows of blue ribbon tied smartly on one side.
