LION.
Lion is a big black dog. whose master sends him to the no-t office for his letters. When the clerk sees tl.e shaggy head at the window, he puts the letters and paper- in Lion's mouth, and away Im trots, never losing a bit of it. One 'lay, when coming home from the office, he -aw a piece of eake on the sidewalk. Now Lion is eery fond of eake, and he was hungry, but if he put the letters down, some one might run oft’ with them, for it was on a busy street. The shaggy head was -till for a minute, as if thinking, when, dropping the letters carefully on tile sidewalk, he placed one big hlack paw on them, and then ate the eake as if he enjoyed it.
