State Examinations for Midwifery and Maternity Nurses' August 7th and 8th, 1929
The Midwifery examination was held on 7th and Bth August. 1929. Forty-one candidates sat, 39 passed, 1 completed a pass, 1 failed outright. The questions were as follows: — 1. Describe the ante-natal treatment and advice you would give a patient during the last three months of her pregnancy. 2. What are the chief conditions likely to lead to post-partum haemorrhage? What precaution would you take to prevent a patient having post-partum haemorrhage ?
3. What conditions cause delay m the deliver} of the after coming head, and how do you treat them? 4. State what you mean by "abortion." What varieties are there? 5. What are the causes of prolonged second stage? What conditions would make you consider it necessary to send for medical assistance? 6. What do you undestand by "prolapse of the cord"? Give the causes and treatment.
