Karitane-Hunt Hospital, Invercargill
The new Mothercraft Home and Karitane Hospital was opened m Invercargill on December Bth. The Home is most beautifully situated m the property donated by Mr. W. D. Hunt, m 1924/ The house, which has been adapted to meet the requirements of the institution, stands m 10 acres of ground laid out m fruit and vegetable gardens, lawns and
shrubbery, backed by native bush. It is already launched as a training centre for Karitane nurses, and fully occupied by mothers and babies. Miss D. McHaffie, who was first Matron of the Mothercraft Home, Wellington, has been appointed Matron, and Miss M. Mclntyre, formerly on the Invercargill district staff, has been appointed Sister.
