Enumerate the chief causes of bed sores. State best methods of preventing them. Should one develop, how would you treat it?

State how you would treat them before placing them in the storeroom. The State Examinations of Midwives and of Maternity Nurses were held on December Ist. QUESTIONS FOR MATERNITY NURSES. 1. What complications may occur in a case of twin birth? 2. Define briefly the terms — (a) Version. (b) Pubes. (c) Extra-uterine pregnancy. (d) Quickening. (e) Embolism. (f) Vernix caseosa.

3. What is 1 meant by puerperal insanity? 4. How would you distinguish a breech presentation, and for what other presentations may it be mistaken? 5: Give the treatment of "thrush" and inflamed breasts in the infant. G. What is the third stage of labour, and how do you manage it? The comments of the examiners were as 1 follows :— "The answers to the questions were fairly uniform and good, with one or two exceptions. The writing, spelling, and grammar are much better than on some former occasions, showing, I presume, that a better and more educated class of woman is presenting herself. There are few bad mistakes in the answers, the difference in the marking bein-;-due to one answer being more complete than another."
