Napier Hospital
Sunny Napier has one of the most beautifully situated hospitals m the Dominion. The view from the grounds across the harbour and bay to the mountain ranges beyond, forms a magnificent panorama, reminiscent of scenes on the French and Italian Rivieras. During the past few years, the hospital has grown tremendously, and to meet the demands of the ever-growing number of patients seeking admission, a large modern brick ward is m course of construction. Extensive additions to the Nurses' Home are being carried out m order to accommodate between 30
and 40 nurses, and plans for a special department block to include operating theatres, bacteriological laboratories, X-ray, physio-therapeutic and other special branches, are m course of preparation. When these are completed there is no doubt that the hospital will be one of the finest and best equipped m the Dominion. The McHardy Maternity Home, which is situated a short distance away, but run as a ward m connection with the hospital, is ideal m situation, and is growing m popularity. As a training school, the results have been excellent.
