Appointments and Changes of Staff in the Plunket Nursing Service

Karitane-Harris Hospital, Dunedin. — Miss R. Buisson, who has been Matron for over four years, has left New Zealand to return to her home m Australia. Just before her departure, Miss Buisson was presented with a beautiful travelling rug and carry-all, from members of the Committee of the Dunedin Branch of the Plunket Society, m token of the very great esteem m which she has always been held, and m grateful appreciation of her loyal and devoted service to the work of the Society. "Matron" will be most sincerely missed, and long-remembered by all who knew her ; Miss N. FitzGibbon, previously Sister, has been appointed Matron ; Nurse M. Knight, Matron, has been granted extended leave of absence, and is going to England for a trip; Nurse M. Jacob has been appointed ActingMatron. Karitane Stewart Hospital, Wanganui. — Miss S. V. Norris, who has been Acting-Matron for the last nine months, has been appointed Matron. Karitane Hospital and Mothercraft Home, Auckland. — Nurse J. Madill, Sister, has resigned; Nurse J. Nurse E. Richards, having been obliged to resign on account of ill health ; Nurse E. Watt has been appointed temporarily to the Taumarunui Branch , Nurse G. Thompson having resigned; Nurses M. Johnson, B. Burke, D. Cox-Smith, and M. Ogden have all been appointed to the Auckland Branch ; Nurse E. S. Allen has resumed duty as Charge-Nurse with the Christchurch Branch ; Nurse S. B. Thomson, of the Petone Branch, and Nurse E. Ogilvie, of Upper Hutt, have obtained leave of absence, and are taking their midwifery course ; Nurse Garrood, Plunket Nurse at Tauranga since the opening of that branch three years ago, has resigned, and is leaving New Zealand on a trip to Canada; Nurse M. McCool has been appointed to the district. Nurse A. Boyd has been appointed to the Timaru Branch ; Nurse A. Love has joined the Wellington District staff; Nurse E. Jones has resigned from the Palmerston North Branch, and is returning to Australia, where she is taking up Infant Welfare work; Nurse C. McGillivray has been appointed to fill the vacancy. Nurse C. Hooper, after acting as Relieving Sister at Karitane Harris Hospital, has joined the Central Office staff, Dunedin ; Nurse R. Cocrane, and Nurse Geeves have also returned to Australia.
