Karitane Hospital, Auckland
The Karitane Hospital at Mount Albert was opened on October 16th by the Mayor. The hospital is a house donated to the Plunket Society by Mr. A. C. Caughey. Sir Arthur Myers donated £5000, and public subscriptions raised £15,000; so the hospital has had an excel-
lent start. The Government has also made a grant of £1000. Sister Hitchcock, a member of the Xew Zealand Army Nursing Service Reserve, and who saw long service during the war, is the matron. Sister Hitchcock was trained at the Wellington Hospital.
