Miss Norma Collins, formerly of New Plymouth Hospital, writes from England, saying she and her friend, Nurse R. Clark, who went Home early last year, have completed their course of Radiography at King's College, Denmark Hill, London, and have passed their examinations. At present they are on the staff of the Rotherham Hospital, Yorkshire, the former m charge of the out-patient department and doing X-Ray work, the latter doing massage andX-Ray work. The hours are very long, but they enjoy the experience, though they hope to return to New Zealand next year. Christmas was spent m Switzerland, and m spring they picked primroses m Cornwall, then worked north to Yorkshire, breaking their journey at Gloucester to see the lovely old cathedral. They have seen quite a lot of Yorkshire
and Derbyshire m their spare time, with a rush visit up to London, where they had the great honour of being present at their Majesties' first garden party at Buckingham Palace on June 25th. Nurse writes : "We were thrilled beyond words, and loved every minute of it, from the moment we stepped into the grounds from Grosvenor Place till the moment we left, walking out through the Palace itself, past magnificent footmen m red livery and much-bemedalled, and passing at the gate the sentry marching up and down keeping back the huge crowd which had assembled to see the King's guests leave. The King and Queen were as sweet as ever, and the Prince of Wales, Duke and Duchess of York, Princess ' Pat,' the Queen of Denmark, and many other interesting personalities were with their Majesties."
