Subscriptions
Accounts for subscriptions due on 1 January were sent out in late December and over 50 per cent have already been paid.
Those due on 1 March will be posted at about the time you receive this Journal.
The prompt payment of accounts ensures uninterrupted delivery of the magazine and reduces the cost of reminders to a minimum.
School Groups
Schools will be commencing their new year this month. It is suggested that you contact the headmaster of your local school and endeavour to have a school group formed.
New Members
Have you enrolled that new member yet? Many members have already responded, but there is a lot of leeway to be made up if we are to achieve our objective before the end of our 40th Anniversary year. ACT NOW!!
Change of Address
Don’t forget to let me know promptly if you change your address. If you do this there will be no delay in sending Forest and Bird to your new address.
PROTECT OUR BIRDS
An Appeal to Farmers and Landowners
Do you own a piece of marsh land, swamp, or sea inlet which you may be prepared to give to the nation as a home for wet-land birds for all time? Unless provision is made now for our wet-land bird friends it will be difficult to make that provision in the future.
Wading and water birds generally thrive on areas not covered too deeply with water. Officers of the Forest and Bird Protection Society would be grateful for an opportunity of calling on any interested owner in order to discuss any proposition which might provide a permanent home for wet-land birds.
