SOUTH ISLAND HOLIDAY CAMP, 1961

The South Island camp for 1961 will be held in the Murchison District High School, commencing Thursday, 5 January, at 7.30 pm. The closing session will be on the evening of Wednesday the 11th.

Murchison is a compact township on the Nelson —Westport main highway, 80 miles from Nelson. The district offers outstanding attractions to Forest and Bird members. It has superb river, gorge, and mountain scenery, native bush, waterfalls, lakes, and upland pakihi swamps for botanists. Bird lovers will find interest, especially in the tame South Island robins.

Those quartered in the school will need their own bedding and lilos. There is ample room for tents or caravans. Two motels are available and two hotels close to the school also offer accommodation.

Those wishing full particulars of this camp should write to Mr. Bernard Teague, camp leader and organiser, Mahia Avenue, Wairoa.

Looking towards Bealey Valley and Mt. Rolleston, Arthur's Pass National Park, from Holiday Camp of Canterbury Branch at Temple Basin.
