At S.iS pmr on the 30th ultimo, three stacks of wheat belonging to Mr. of Makikihi, were discovered to be on fire by his brother-in-law, Hiram Orchard. As the stacks were standing in a large paddock at least half a mile from the nearest house or tent, and no person was working near them during the day, the mischief was done by an incendiary. _ As Mr. Lovegrove is absent from home, it is not known whether they are insured or not.

Between 6 p.m. Ist., and 6.45 a.m. 2nd inst., four rails of a fence belonging to George Cooper, corner of East Town Belt and Tuam street, were maliciously broken, damage amounting to 4s.

Between 11 p.m. 2nd, and 5 a.m. 3rd inst., a gray canvas X window-blind in Cathedral Square, the property of H. D. Manning, gunsmith, was maliciously injured to the extent of 10s.

Between 10 a.m. and 11.30 a.m., 4th inst., three panes of glass in the house occupied by Peter Jansen, at Waltham, were maliciously broken by stones being thrown through them. Daniel and Larges Bound, sons of David Bound, blacksmith at Bailway, are suspected. They are still at Waltham.

On the 20th ult., the dwelling of Thomas Potter, at Harewood road, Papanui, was broken into, but nothing has been missing. This is believed to have been done by Samuel Dann alias Bobert Knight, who has since been arrested by the Bangiora police, and is at present undergoing a sentence for vagrancy.

At 12.30 a.m. on the 6th inst., four windows value 45., in the dwelling of Mary Wadsworth, Lyttelton street, Christchurch, were maliciously broken by men whom she believes were frequenters of Welstead’s brothel, hut she could not identify them.

Between 5.30 p.m. 13th, and 7.30 p.m. 14th inst., a pane of glass value 25., in the dwelling of James Welsh, tentmaker, Colombo street, was maliciously broken. No one in particular is suspected.
