Stolen, 1 from ! Mr.' Bray’s . residence, Manchester Street, Christchurch, on the 18th April last, 1 an// opossum .rug,' half-sized,/ lined /with grey waterproof ’ cloth, bound round with red braid, marked “W. B Bray ”on the skin. Annie Pearce, about 20 years, tall and good-looking, fair hair, and, complexion; who i; left : Mr. j. Bray’s service ; on this .date 'without giving any notice, is suspected.'.. She is still in Christchurch. Rug identifiable.-!

John Hutchings, native of Romford, Essex, aged 29 years,, sft. 10in., medium build, dark brown hair, whiskers, : beard, ‘ and moustache, reddish tint on beard, dark complexion, hazel eyes, generally dresses, in tweed suit and black deerstalker or dress hat; is charged on warrant filed in Commissioner’s office, With forgery committed' upon the Bank of New Zealand, Christchurch, by means of which he obtained the sum of £4OO, with which he absconded to Melbourne per s s Tararua on v the ! 15th February, 1875.
