GENERAL STORE.

1. Accommodation shall be set apart at the Depot, to be known as the General Store, and this branch of the department shall be under the management of the Storekeeper, who shall be responsible to the Accountant for the proper discharge of the duties of his office, and all matters pertaining thereto ; and the Accountant shall be responsible to the Commissioner.

2. The Storekeeper shall he exempt from all other departmental duties, and shall in every instance receive orders as to the duties of his office direct from the Accountant, andall communications to or from the Storekeeper on any subject shall be forwarded direct to the Commissioner.

3. The Storekeeper shall at all times appear in plain clothes, except under special instructions from the Commissioner.

4. No articles are to be received into Store or issued therefrom without the authority of the Commissioner, and during office hours.

5. When it is found necessary to issue articles from the Store which should appear on the Parchment Certificates held by the members of the Force, it will be necessary for the Storekeeper to make the entry previous to the issue ; and in every instance to submit the certificate for the inspection of the Officer in charge of the Store before returning it to the original holder. G. When, stores are required which can be obtained in the out districts, the member of the Force in charge will forward a list with the requisition, showing the current prices for each article of the best quality of its kind, in order that the cheapest way of supplying the articles may be adopted.
