Walsh, to be Constables First-class. Constables Thi id-class, John Johnston, William Bass, George Benjamin Dance, John Mitchell Walker, Robert Johnston, to be Constables Second-class.
The dead body of a man, about 30 years of age, supposed to be a person named George Brain, was found, 26th September, 1873, on the Hawkswood Beach, at the mouth of th« Waiau River in the Amuri District. Deceased was supposed to have belonged to a vessel that was built by a person named Valentine, which vessel was wrecked in that locality some time previous to the above date. A pair of boots and a leather belt, which were on the body when found, were identified as having been seen upon the man George Brain, who is stated to have been a relation of Mr. Worley, 29, St. Mary Street, Stonehouse, Devon, England.
