On the night of the 29th April, 1870, a Stack of 2*lCovering 400 bushels of wheat, was maliciously set" onfire, at Courtney, the property of George Hay.

The following amended description has been received of Thomas Lascelles Harris, charged with embedment on the Bulla Sbire Council, aged 43, but looks hunger, sft. Sin. high, light hair grey eves, sandy beard and whiskers, large moustache, which however he may shave off, long nose with small sair on the point, good-looking ; wore light grey tweed clothing, and dark hat with round top. He is accompanied by Mrs Cassidy, maiden name Elizabeth Lazarus, aged 32 sft 4in. high, thin build, pale complexion, brown hair and eyes, and good-looking; wore brown wincey dress, black velvet jacket, trimmed with braid and bugles, black velvet bat with white feather over the crown, brown kid gloves, and rather large go brooch, with diamond in centre. Harris has with him a grey catskin rug, edged with grey opossum skms, and lined with red flannel, gimped at the edges. 13th August, 1870.

Extract from Tasmania Reports of Crime, sth August, 1870, Ho. 577, page 128. Information is requested respecting Michael Morrissey, alias James Conolly, per Circassian, an important witness against William Bannon, charged with attempting to shoot District Constable M‘Questin, of Port Sorrell, on the 15th ultimo. Description:—43 years old, sft. 6 or 7in. high, blind left eye, wears moustache, dark brown hair and whiskers, light blue eye, medium mouth, stoops, has recently been injured by a cart falling upon him; has been a soldier, was tried and convicted by courtmartial in Hew Zealand. He is likely to go into hospital, or leave the colony. It is requested that members of the Eorce will use every exertion to trace this man.
