Stolen.

Stolen from the premises of Thomas Easton, Peterborough street, Christchurch, during e of 22nd ult.. a spade, small garden rake, two shoe brushes, «nd a child’s flannel night gown, much worn. The latter only identifiable.

Stolen at Oxford, on the 7th September, 1869, a black and white sheep dog, answers to the name of “ Toper,” white on breast, fore feet and tail tipped with white, old scar on one eyebrow, indistinct unless the hair be lifted, smooth but rather coarse hair, the property of George Brenner, of Oxford. The dog was seen with a lad about 16 years of age, driving cattle near the Carlton sale yards on the 10th November, 1869. No name or description of the boy given.

Stolen from the dwelling of Alexander Calder, of Riccarton, sometime between the 18th and 22nd ultimo, a £lO Union Bank Australia note, No. not known. Harry Novice, suspected, 16 years of age, 5 feet 2 inches high, slender build, fair complexion and hair, no whisker, beard or moustache, of a jockey appearance. Still in Mr. Calder’s employment.

Stolen, from the dwelling of John Page, St. Asaph street, Christchurch, on the 14th ult, the undermentioned properties, all identifiable A box, 6in. by 4in., shells round the lid, crimson velvet in centre containing a gold brooch, with three yellow stones ; a small gold brooch set with yellow stone in centre; a silver brooch in the shape of a forget-me-not, set with Scotch pebbles ; a plain gold ring ; a gold ring set with three light colored stones ; a gold ring, originally set with five rubies, two of which are deficient; a portion of a gold ear-ring in the shape of a cockle shell, and set of plain white shirt studs, one ditto, carved. A small mahogany box, 6in. by 3|in., with green pincushion on top, stands on four small round legs, inside lid lined with red flowered satin, containing a rosette ; one jet bracelet; an oblong shaped scent bottle, red inside, the initials J.M.P. on outside ; and several buttons and sundry small articles. A light colored pincushion, 4in. by 3L, with V.R. worked on scarlet wool on top.—The whole valued at £lO.

Stolen, on the night of the 7th, from the dwelling of William Mardon, of the east Town Belt, Christchurch : —A Russian leather dressing case ;an ebony watch case ; two china toilet pot s; a valuable gold scarf pin, cable pattern, bar through the centre ; one d-tto, set with a pearl; a topaz brooch with pearl drops ; a gold vine leaf ditto set in pearls ; a gold pencil case, richly engraved, with amethyst stone; » jet earring ; a gold earwire ; a small nugget; a gold keeper ring, with the word Aci in blue enamel; a gold solitaire stud; two glass seals with the words Absent, but not Eorgotten ” engraved; a pair of gold sleeve links ; one old ditto ; one gold stud with mosaic. - All identifiable.
