List of appointments, &c., since the publication of the last list: — resignations. Constable James Pitz Gerald.

(See Canterbury “ Police Gazette,” No. 3, Peb., 1 1866, page 18). The Horses No. 1 and 2, reported as stolen, ha\e been recovered, they having only strayed.

(See Canterbury “ Police Gazette,” No. 14, July 15, 1867, page 98). The Chesnut mare No. 1, reported as stolen, has been recovered, it having been found straying.

(See Canterbupy “ Police Gazette,” No. 14 July 15, 1867, page 95. , Charles E. Gundry, late teller at Union Ban , Grevmouth, has been arrested by the Greym Police, for stealing the sum of £467, and commi for trial.

A warrant has been issued by the Haast Bench for the apprehension of Thomas O’Brien, charged with assaulting Constable William Eminerson while in the discharge of his duty. He is an Irishman, native of County Clare, 26 years old, 5 feet inches high, stout build, fair complexion, no beard whiskers or moustache, dressed in moleskin trousers, Crimean shirt, watertight boots, and a brown billycock hat. Supposed to have gone to Foxe’s on the Nelson goldfields.

Christchurch, August 1,1867.

A warrant has been issued by the Timaru Bench for the apprehension of one Walter Walker, charged with forgery and uttering on May 11, 1867. He is an Englishman, aged from 25 to 28 years, 5 feet 10 inches high, complexion fair, fair hair worn long, fair heard very thin, weight about 12 stone, medium build broad face, regular features, high cheek bones, when speaking has a habit of dropping his eyelids, dressed in grey Crimean shirt, dark tweed trousers, old cloth cap, and laced boots, speaks Maori. Supposed to have gone in the direction of Christchurch. Supposed to be identical with Albert Hunt, who is well known in connexion with the discovery of the West Canterbury goldfields.
